A few hours ago we went to Eastwood City to catch a movie with my sister and her boyfriend "Chabbi". We arrived a couple of hours early so we decided to have dinner first. We all agreed to have it light and a bit inexpensive so we dined at Pho Hoa.

We ordered bowls of noodles.

1 Pho Bokho (Beef Stew)
1 Pho Do Vien (Seafood Noodle Soup)
1 Vermicelli Bowl - Bun Thịt Nưong Cha Gio (Grilled Pork, Vegetables and Fried Rolls)

Pho Do Vien

The soup was not too hot--just right, enough heat for you to eat/sip it right away and not burn your tongue. It's not too salty and with a very light seafood and herb taste.

The rice noodles are cooked Al dente.

My only concern is that it contained less seafood than what I expected. Though it was served with 3 to 4 pieces of shrimp--it was also served with just a small portion of fish, one crab stick and a few pieces of squid balls. Now, if I were to cook it (not that I know how) I would use real squid, and not the "ball" ones which, may not be 100% made of pure squid.

Nevertheless, the entire bowl tasted healthy. ^_^

Price: Php 295 per order (Large Bowl)

Pho Bokho

The soup tasted just like beef stew with a hint of sourness and herb. Delicious!

The beef is cooked just right -- not over cooked. Same goes for its noodles. This definitely is Not your ordinary beef mami (noodles).  ^_^

Price: Php 265 per order (Large Bowl)

Vermicelli Bowl (Bún Thịt Nướng Chả Giò)

A vermicelli bowl (according to the waiter) is actually a serving of dry noodles (w/o soup) It was served with a cup of dressing.

I first tasted the fried rolls -- they were good! Somehow, it tasted like barbecue. It was crunchy and flavorful. The dish had a lot of vegetables and chopped grilled pork (that also has BBQ flavor).

When you add/pour the dressing--the entire bowl will evidently become a noodle salad. At least now, it tasted like a salad. The dressing seemed like sweet vinaigrette.

We all concluded that this dish is perfect and worth ordering again.

Price: Php 250 per order (Small Bowl)

Rating:

 7 out of 10 Stars

It's my 2nd time around so that means I've tried their other dish -- and they were good.
