Beef/Pork Jerky Anyone?

Just recently, a doctor friend of ours, who just came home from a quick trip in Singapore--gave us a weird looking snack. The content is unknown to us, since the writings were in a different language. Whatever "Bakkwa" means--I hope it will taste good.

Luckily, there was an instruction leaflet with pictures and English words in it.

After soaking the packs in hot water for a few minutes, we opened them and tasted it. Those brown things turned out to be pork jerky. And it was good! Mild sweet taste and the meat was not too hard to chew. ^_^ Too bad they don't sell it here in Manila.

But it made me remember, there are different varieties of jerky available in our markets. I also recalled my dad buying those beef jerky in yellow packs. The sweet-salty taste that made us want more. Hopefully, we'll remember to look for it when we go to the grocery next month. ^_^

I love beef jerky! We used to buy packs of it whenever we go grocery-shopping. *LOL*

Haven't tried pork jerky though. I'm a bit skeptical about how it's prepared. Y'know, pork, if not prepared or cooked properly, can make you sick. ^_^
