As an early birthday celebration, my sister Karen who is a total foodie, treated our family to a mini degustation at one of the finest Thai Cuisine restaurant in the metro.

When we got there, I was pretty much impressed with the ambiance. Outside, you would not think it has a fine dining set up. But when you see the interiors, it's pretty much impressive. Although, when my sister made the reservations, the person in-charge allowed us to wear jeans. Plus, I saw several customers who came in wearing a regular t-shirt w/ jeans or walking shorts and sandals. It pretty much ruined the atmosphere. Nevertheless, it's all good.

They have private rooms if you prefer a more intimate party. You can have the entire room reserved, otherwise it will be open to other guests.

From the list of our orders, they served us the following, starting with:

White Wine (Douglas Green, Chardonnay-Colombard, South Africa)

It was a good wine, though for the occasional drinker that I am, the 13.5% alcohol content was a bit too much. My sister and my dad quickly turned red after just a few sip. My mom on the other hand, loved it. ^_^

Price: Php 900/bottle

Next was the Pomelo Salad (Yam Som O)

A very refreshing taste. The Pomelo was not sour nor dry. The sauce was just right. Not too salty nor too sweet.

Price: Php 295

Fish Cake w/ sweet spicy sauce (Goong Pan Ooy)

Instead of the usual 3 pieces per order, they gave us 4 pieces of Fish Cake. We loved the mild taste. It lets you savor the fresh fish that they used. The sauce was not too spicy.

Price: 295

Chicken Satay with Peanut Sauce and Cucumber Achara (Satay Gai)

This time, aside from the usual 5 pieces per order, they instead gave us 4 pieces, but it's okay. They probably adjusted the serving size to accommodate the 4 of us. We also liked this one, especially with the peanut sauce. It was like chicken inasal but with a hint of nuts ^_^

Price: 225

Next was, Sour Prawn Soup (Tom Yum Goong)

For this one, my sister requested for it to be less spicy. When the hostess asked the level of hotness/spiciness, my sister asked for the lowest. ^_^ Therefore, my dad and I did not much enjoy the soup. Mainly, because we both wanted it to be strong! Like, extra sour and hot ^_^

But, it was still good. ^_^ We love Tom Yum soup. We even make one at home. ^_^

It contained large shrimps and some mushrooms. Very healthy!

Price: Php 345

Bagoong Rice (Khao Kapi) was next to be served.

It was also good. The taste was not too salty. I did not even notice any after taste, w/c I hate about Bagoong (Shrimp Paste) The serving was quite enough for the 4 of us. Mainly, because we had too much to eat ^_^ But for a hungry person, one order would suffice.

Price: Php 325

Thai Style Fried Chicken w/ Crispy Shallots

For me this was pretty much ordinary. Though, the way it was prepared and the taste was good, but nothing extraordinary about it.

Price: Php 345

The Thai Style Friend Noodles (Pad Thai) also tasted mediocre. We were expecting too much about it, and in the end -- only to get disappointed. The taste was nothing compared with the one served by the restaurant's cheaper counterpart, Muang Thai .

Nevertheless, the presentation/plating was okay.

Price: Php 325

The last dish that was served before desert was the Steamed Whole Boneless Apahap (Pla Naeng Ma Naw) (again it was requested to be less spicy) It was prepared with lime, fish sauce, garlic, coriander and chili.

I am not a huge fan of steamed fish/seafood. But I can say that the fish was fresh before it was cooked. My parents and my sister loved this order. They ate the entire thing. My mom even savored the fish head. ^_^ Plus, the other couple next to our table, also ordered the same dish. So, for them, it's really, really good! ^_^

Price: Php 735

When the dessert came, my stomach was too full that I thought I would not be able to enjoy it. Good thing I tried, because it was worth it. The Thai Style Halo-halo (Ruamit) was absolutely good. The sweetness was just right. They used coconut milk and fine crushed ice. It also came with funny shaped chewy gelatin and other fruits and nuts.

Price: Php 125

I would surely like to dine here again. ^_^ Thank you sis! ^_^
