As an early and additional Christmas gift for me and my parents, my sweet sister, Karen, treated us for a dinner at the Sky Lounge (Restaurant and Bar) of the Vivere Hotel in Alabang.
Now, just like what the other blogs wrote, the food at Sky Lounge is nothing special. They're good, but nothing amazing. They specialize in Filipino dishes. So, even though we knew beforehand that the food would not be great, we still went. Mainly because we want to experience their fantastic view! And the restaurants' ambiance is okay. Not cozy though and nothing intimate but, we all agreed that the place was wonderful.
Plus, the cool wind enhanced our whole experience. ^_^
We ordered:
Vegetable Salad
Crispy Binagoongan
Kare-Kare
Pinakbet
The Pinakbet has an illusion. You will think that they used a whole Palayok (clay pot) but actually, it's just half. The clay pot is not deep.
The Kare-Kare sauce needs more flavor (or maybe I'm just used to our own recipe/version of Kare-Kare) but, it had a lot of vegetables, meat, etc.
The Crispy Binagoongan is indeed crispy. And I love pork! ^_^ The bagoong (shrimp paste) underneath is ok. I did not notice it having much after taste so, that's good.
As I've said, the view is FANTASTIC! AMAZING! GREAT! ^_^
Thanks, Sis! ^_^ Next is Vivere Azure? ^_^
NOTE: You need to make reservations if wish to have a table when you arrive. Because, by the time we started eating, the entire place was almost full. And they will only give you 15 minutes waiting period or they will give your reserved table to other guest.
If I recall, they will not accept reservations during Christmas and New Year.
